Jarrett Bay certainly knows about big offshore boats since the company builds a lot of what many consider some of the best afloat.
This 34 constitutes a walkaround express. Rather than stepping up to the side deck to walk forward as on most walkarounds, you can head to the bow along the cabin sides, which are inboard far enough for you to negotiate.
At the same time, the design affords a very comfortable cabin, easily accommodating a couple for weekending or family members who want a luxurious space where they can escape the sun, make a meal, take naps and use the full-size stand-up head.
You can’t mistake the lineage of the Jarrett Bay 34 either. The proud bow, exaggerated flare, broken sheer line and pronounced tumblehome in the topsides and transom all scream “North Carolina!”
The 34 can handle up to triple 300 hp outboards mounted on a bracket. It sports a solid fiberglass bottom and composite coring above the waterline to lower the center of gravity for optimum stability as well as a greater strength-to-weight ratio. The 34 has a very sharp entry that when combined with the modest 14-degree deadrise provides superb head-sea performance as well as terrific dynamic stability and good fuel economy.
You’ll also discover great fishing features aboard the 34, such as dedicated gaff storage, up to five insulated fish boxes, as many in- gunwale rod holders as you want and, well, it’s a semicustom boat. You tell them exactly what you want, and Jarrett Bay will make it happen!
