Located on Abaco’s wild Atlantic coast, this unlikely port is carved out of the island and is being ambitiously developed into a sustainable community of permanent rsidents and vacation homeowners.
The small marina can accomodate one vessel up to 65 feet and has several smaller slips. Schooner Bay can be approached in good weather using a chart found on page 154 in the 2014 Dodge Cruising Guide to Abaco. None of our several electronic or paper charts had details or soundings of this area, but the pasage through the reef is straightforward and marked with red and green buoys. At high tide we saw more than 10 feet until you enter the harbor which carries a minumum of 8 feet.
