**North Florida Fishing Report 9/8/15**

*The fall mullet run has begun along area beaches and inlets with the usual suspects in hot pursuit. Tarpon, jack crevalle, spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish are all present and actively feeding on the mullet buffet. Strong tides recently have made life difficult for the mullet schools being swept into the waiting jaws of predators high and low. The inshore bite has turned on for flounder and redfish with several large speckled trout turning up as well. Topwater lures are ideal to locate these larger trout. Success with the tarpon lurking in our area depends on their mood, tide and presentation. Chum and drift fishermen are scoring with shrimp boat bycatch or the omnipresent mullet freelined downcurrent.

Grouper have been cooperative from 21 fathoms to the ledge, with legal vermillion snapper and some seabass showing on inshore structure. King mackerel are scarce but still appearing on selected spots among the throngs of barracudas shadowing wrecks and reefs out to 100′.

Large sharks have been steady inside the inlet and following shrimp boats offshore. Redfish and some black drum are scattered throughout the inlets and are cooperating on live mullet and shrimp respectively…

Tight Lines and take a kid fishing!
