The **Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina (MYC)**, named one of the “Top Ten Marina Destinations in North America, Mexico, and the Bahamas, is ideally located at the eastern tip of Long Island south fork in the East Hampton town of Montauk. The 232 slip marina offers dockage for vessels up to 200 feet in length and annually plays host to a variety of yacht rendezvous, regattas, and world class sport fishing tournaments. MYC is part of the IGY Marinas network of marina destination facilities known for providing the highest levels of management and service.

**Position Summary:** Oversees all marina activities ensuring effective and efficient operations that comply with all safety regulations and company procedures; responsibly manages all facets of the marina business including financial performance and guest satisfaction initiatives.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):**

Supports management in collecting and tracking various key data metrics and reports. This includes the monitoring of utility usage, waste collection, equipment use, monthly financial reporting, dock assignments, revenue controls, etc.

Oversees all activities related to assisting guests with securing their vessels to assigned docks; ensures utility lines (telephone, power, and water) are properly connected to guest vessels and that appropriate billing is initiated.

Manages a team of Dock Attendants and Marina Office Agents to ensure a smooth operation. Monitors staff schedules and ensures that all positions are adequately staffed based on facility needs.

Ensures Dock Attendants provide appropriate dockside transportation, baggage service, provision and package delivery to guests; personally assists/performs these duties as required.
Provides general security and supports facility security teams in their security related efforts.

Ensures dock facility is maintained according to operational standards and monitors dock area to ensure compliance; overall responsibility for ensuring that the marina premises remains clean and maintained throughout the calendar year.

Assists/Performs all maintenance and cleaning duties as required and as per maintenance schedules.

Actively researches and investigates all options to ensure repair and improvement projects are completed in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner. Presents these options clearly to general management. Oversees approved capital improvement and general maintenance projects.

Ensures dock staff are equipped with necessary supplies and tools needed to carry out various duties and projects.

Responsible for supply purchases and inventory control as necessary.

Maintains VHF radio and in-person communication with vessels, dock staff, marina office, and management at ALL times. Utilizes proper VHF radio etiquette at all times.

Actively supports management in staffing issues and maintains regular communication with general management regarding staff performance.

Completes and successfully maintains required training standards and certificates.

Complies with management requirements to participate in various requests and duties that might pertain to other departments at MYC.

Completes and monitors all necessary financial operating reports including annual budgets, scheduled forecasts, and vital key metric trackers.

**Qualifications:**

**Supervisory Responsibilities:**

Directly supervises up to 14 employees in the Marina. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises and coordinates activities of Dock Attendants and Marina Office Agents.

**Education/Experience:**

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and knowledge with computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel) and basic financial spreadsheets is preferred.

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
