24′ Center Console Sea Ray Laguna offshore fishing under $20K located near Port Canaveral, Florida
Sea Ray introduced the 1992 Laguna 24 with a number of promises – and they fulfilled them all. This 25 year old design often exceeds the features you find in today’s boats, no wonder this classic boat is still a sought after fishing machine. When you think of ‘fishing’, Sea Ray is not the brand that comes to mind. Yet with the Laguna, Sea Ray was well ahead of their time. Here we have an excellent example of this classic being offered for sale.
The deep-v hull, flared bow and 8-½ ft. beam give this boat a solid ride in rougher seas. Unlike many newer boats, the Laguna 24 really has storage space! In the forward deck is twin over-board draining fish boxes and a deep, long rod locker. Along each gunnel is horizontal rod storage and there is vertical storage for another 6 rods that line the helm. Another 4 rods go in the rocket launcher, 4 more above in t-top. The aft bait rigging station has a deep molded bait well with a sliding teak cutting board to cut and prepare bait. Twin transom doors allow bringing a fish aboard or port side the built in swim ladder is a feature the family will appreciate. Unlike too many of today’s designs, you can actually reach the batteries, the water fuel filters, the pumps and seacocks – without being a contortionist
This extremely well cared for Laguna is stored (with full canvas covers) in the owners garage. He regularly washes and waxes, runs the engines (Rec90 fuel with additive only), adds new upgrades… what he doesn’t do is use this boat.
Yes, of course all the owners manuals are still in the Sea Ray branded packet that came with the boat.
The starting/house batteries were new in 2016. The ICOM radio is new. The owner replaced the standard rub rail with one of Stainless Steel. He upgraded the twin axel aluminum trailer with LED lighting, a Fulton jack and two-speed winch. The radial tires appear to have less than 100 miles on them. If it wasn’t for the Fureno GPS and Raytheon Color sounder, you might think this boat came out of the factory last week.
The canvass T-top was replaced in 2015. The cooler and transom cushions have been reupholstered and the other cushions hardly show any age. The canvass covers are in very good shape, extra never used ones are still in their boxes.
Original but worth a mention: Yes she has trim tabs. Yes she has outriggers and the mounting for a downrigger (new rigger may be available.) The Clarion CD Radio is stored in its box, out of boat. Yes it has freshwater wash down. Yes there is a porta-potty in the console. What does this boat need? An owner to take her out, get some fish blood on the deck and enjoy this classic. Priced at under $20K..
