**Anglers Journal television ** With Host John Brownlee

**Anglers Journal television **

**Anglers Journal Television** represents something of a departure from the average TV fishing show. In addition to seeing great fishing action, youll meet interesting and colorful characters from the spots we visit, view some pretty spectacular scenery, and hear about some unique cuisine the area in question offers. Along the way, we expect youll have a few laughs with us, and maybe even learn a thing or two that will help you in your own fishing experiences as well.

[**CASA VIEJA LODGE, GUATEMALA**]

**Anglers Journal TV** traveled to San Jose, Guatemala in December to target Pacific sailfish out of the extraordinary Casa Vieja Lodge. Lodge owner David Salazar guided me to dozens of sailfish releases on conventional tackle aboard the classic 40-foot Whiticar sport-fisherman Finest Kind on day one. Then we invited aboard a special guest, Capt. Chris Sheeder wife Elisa Badillo Abascal, and went after sails using fly rods! A visit to the beautiful, ancient city of Antigua capped off the adventure. There no better place on the planet than Guatemala when it comes to targeting Pacific sailfish. AJTV captures the excitement, majesty and raw power of these spectacular animals as David, Elisa and I release one fish after another.  **John Brownlee**

[**DOGWOOD LODGE  HOPEDALE,**]

**A fishing trip to Louisiana** belongs on the bucket list of every serious saltwater angler. Whether you choose to head offshore in search of the huge variety of species that hang around the thousands of oil rigs offshore, or you opt to stay in the labyrinthine channels and bayous which make up the Louisiana delta, you really cant go wrong. In January, the AJTV crew and I visited the Dogwood Lodge in Hopedale, which is basically a wide spot at the end of the road southeast of New Orleans. The Dogwood is a converted 1940s Coast Guard Buoy tender and offers an exceptional level of service only a short boat ride from some incredible inshore action. Capt. Alex Murray guided us to several days of chilly but exciting fishing targeting redfish in the vast marshes west of the Chandeleur Islands. These marshes go for miles and lie between Mississippi and Louisiana. Join me and my special guest Capt. Jared Cyr, a renowned fly fishing guide from Key West, Florida on his first-ever fishing trip to Louisiana. It breathtakingly beautiful country, but the best part about it is that lots of big fish live there!  **John Brownlee**

[**KEY WEST, FLORIDA  CUDAS AND COBES**]

**After our excellent outing in Louisiana**, we joined Capt. Jared Cyr in his home waters of Key West to target big barracudas on the shallow flats. Cudas are the unsung heroes of the flats, often playing second fiddle to better-known and hipper species like tarpon, bonefish and permit. But if youre intrigued by powerful strikes, sizzling runs and fish that jump, look no further than the “lowly barracuda. Fishing for big cudas on light tackle in shallow water is about as exciting as it gets, as Capt. Cyr likes to point out to those who dont yet get it. Jared younger brother Brandon, also an accomplished fly fishing guide, joined us for several days of non-stop action with these powerful predators. And once wed caught plenty of cudas, we ventured off to a wreck near the fabled Marquesas islands where we discovered a huge school of fat cobia loitering over the wreck. Join us as the Cyr brothers and I catch and release lots of big cudas and then battle big cobes on light spinning gear and on fly rods in a visually stunning episode of AJTV!  **John Brownlee**
