Pursuit Boats plant expansion could increase production by 50%*
Pursuit says new product introductions have generated need for more manufacturing space
Pursuit Boats said it is expanding its facilities in Fort Pierce, Florida. The US$2.1m addition will allow the builder to increase production by up to 50%, according to a company statement. Pursuit said its new product introductions have generated demand that require more manufacturing space.
Were excited about the expansion and what the growth means for our company. A lot of hard work and planning has gone into making this a reality, said Bruce Thompson, president of Pursuit Boats in the statement. The new building will give us the capability to continue to grow our portfolio while also increasing the efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
The expansion will add 14,000 square feet to the existing facility and will mean 30 new jobs. The construction is scheduled to be completed this summer in time for the beginning of the 2018 model year introduction.
George Hetzel, vice president of sales, said that Pursuits market share and retail sales have shown Å“consistent growth in the last several years. It is no accident that our manufacturing facilities need to expand, he said in the statement.
