Regulator 34

Since 1988, Regulator Marine has been at the spear point of a revolution in crafting quality offshore fishing boats. According to our survey, it valued for its style, durability, safety and a reputation that ensures high resale value. In fact, no other boat brand scored higher than Regulator for value. But while “value often means “cheap to many, respondents experienced with Regulator boats made comments like, “Excellent boat for true fishermen, and “Excellent quality with a smooth ride. And Regulators are highly regarded for value attributes that include brand reputation, customer -service and available equipment. These are comments and scores you would expect from a premium brand. While Regulator does strive to keep purchase costs down and resale up, clearly those experienced with the brand see “top shelf wherever they look on board.

Regulator superior handling comes from well designed running surfaces and the proven benefits of lightweight aluminum transom brackets that set the outboards back from the transom, allowing a clean flow of water to the props, maximizing lift, thrust and handling characteristics at all planing speeds.

The style is all North -Carolina Outer Banks, featuring high bows with a broad, spray deflecting flare for pushing through turbulent seas. Aft, a tumblehome in the transom completes the distinctive signature.

It only takes a glance at the 34 to see what those who know Regulator revere in the brand. Its lines are efficient, practical, rugged and beautiful. And that style is carried through to the interior. Contributing to high scores are the wide bow to stern walkways, uninterrupted by the surprising step found on so many center-consoles. Coaming pads around the boat are firm, the upholstery supple, with stain and UV resistance for a long life. Grab rails around the bow are recessed. Seating forward adds luxury, but the cushions are stowable for hard-core fishing, another attribute appreciated by Regulator fans.

The foredeck is flat with a nonskid surface to assure traction and prevent spills. A coaming rail deflects water that might otherwise run inside the boat. The 34 transom offers a wide work area; a 124-quart fish box and a 25-gallon livewell can be found beneath it. For fishing, drop the aft lounge against the transom to open the cockpit for battle.
