Trade my Ocean-Going Yacht for Home or Condo – $750000 (Seattle)

$750,000

Want to cruise the world? On your own yacht? This 58′ 2000 Cape Horn steel hulled yacht is certainly one of the safest and most comfortable small ships ever made. Made in Nova Scotia by craftsmen who know how to make seaworthy passage-making yachts.

She has a bulbous bow, bilge keels which allow her to stand on her own bottom or to be intentionally beached for service or inspection, hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, double hull construction, and multiple water tight compartments with locking water tight doors. She features a walk-around Portuguese bridge to prevent man-over-boards. And she has serious ground tackle (anchors), with two hydraulic windlasses for anchor retrieval fore and aft. Also, she has water-tight storm windows for all exterior windows.

Four beautiful staterooms, and two fully equipped bathrooms (heads) with full showers. Fully equipped pilothouse with everything needed for off-shore cruising. Radar, forward looking Sonar, Robertson auto-pilot, two GPS navigation units, Nobeltec navigation, much more. The pilothouse windshields are heated.

This boat has a range of between 4,000 and 5,000 nautical miles due to its 4,400 gallon tankage of diesel fuel. She can reach Hawaii with ease and comfort.

Her watermaker can make 400 gallons of pure drinkable water per day.

Her 20k diesel generator could run a small neighborhood, as well as her Marine Air heating and air conditioning system.

Her John Deere diesel main engine has only 2200 hours, and her Volvo Penta “get home” engine only has 25 hours. All in the standup engine room.

Living amenities include Sub-Zero refrigerator with two freezer drawers, dishwasher, trash compactor, convection oven/microwave, 4-burner range, chest freezer, BBQ, washer & dryer, flat panel TVs

She carries a 14′ Caribe inflatable dinghy with hard-bottom, steering console, with 60hp Mercury four-stroke motor. The dinghy off-loads with a 1500 lb crane/davit. Also included is a self-inflating 6-man life raft, and six SCUBA tanks.

I am in my late seventies and probably should live out my life on shore, so I am willing to trade our M/V Discover for a nice home or condo in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington. Or maybe BC, Canada.

Or I would consider a lesser boat, or airplane, on partial trade.

She was professionally surveyed two years ago and appraised at $1.3MM. Replacement cost was placed at $3M to $3.5M.

She is currently listed for sale at $750K for a quick sale, and is moored in fresh water in Seattle.
